Eileen M. (Hourihan) McCarthy

Eileen M. (Hourihan) McCarthy – Of Woburn, peacefully, March 13th at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late James B. McCarthy. Cherished mother of Christine Towle of Woburn. Proud grandmother of Ryan Towle and his wife Amber Towle of NH and Adam Towle. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, John Hourihan, beloved sister Marion Weisinger and younger brother Donald Hourihan. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, March 18th from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eileen memory to the NuPath, Inc, 141 New Boston Street, Woburn, MA 01801. All attending are asked to enter through the front door of the funeral home and exit through the back door. Masks MUST be worn at all times, along with strict adherence to social distancing. A graveside service will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn at 10 a.m.

  1. A wonderful nurse, teacher and administrator. She was beloved by all at NERH. Having worked with her for many years I remember her as compassionate, caring and dedicated. She was a very special person. I have great memories of her and am sad about her passing.

  4. So sorry to hear of Eileen’s passing. She was a great women and a wonderful nurse. Worked at NERH for many years in nursing management. She will be missed.
