Manuel M. Pereira- of Lake Wales, Florida, formerly of Woburn, MA February 8th. Beloved husband of Justyne A. (Metrick) Pereira. Cherished father of James M. Pereira, his wife Kristy of Framingham, MA, Cynthia Pereira of Avon, MA, Heather Gleason of Bridgewater, MA.  Dear brother of John Pereira of Wilmington and the late Peter Pereira and Mary Rocketentz. Adored grandfather of Matthew, Megan, Nicolas, Alicia, Olivia, Taylor & Camryn. Loving brother-in-law of Darlene Moore and Marlene Metrick of New Hampshire. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Manuel’s Funeral Mass at St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, February 17th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, close family and friends are invited to briefly pay their respects prior to the Funeral Mass from 8:30– 9:45 a.m., in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn.  All attending are asked to enter through the front door of the Funeral Home and exit through the back door. Masks MUST be worn at all times, along with strict adherence to social distancing. Donations may be made in Manuel’s memory to Lake Ashton Veterans Association (LAVA), 414 Ashton Club Drive, Lake Wales, FL 33859. 

Manuel M. Pereira passed away in Lake Wales Florida, Monday February 8th, 2021.  The beloved husband of Justyne A. (Metrick) Pereira, he was seventy-seven years of age.

Born in the Madera Islands, Portugal, “Manny” as he was called, was son of the late Manuel and Maria  (Camacho) Pereira.

The family moved to the Woburn area and Manny attended the Woburn Schools graduating from Woburn High School along with the Class of 1961.  Following high school in August of 1961, Manny enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country with great dignity , respect and pride for the next four years, during the Vietnam War.  Manny furthered his education at Newbury College in Boston, where he received his Associates degree in Data Processing.

Over thirty-three years ago Manny married his sweetheart Justyne Metrick.  Raised and enjoyed three children, a son and two daughters, into the world to whom they were devoted.  Family all throughout the years were very important Manny.

Manny had worked in Data Processing throughout the years and rose to the position of Manager of Comp Data, at Verizon.  Manny was very invested in his work and had belonged to several professional groups, where he served on their boards and was held in great esteem.

Upon his retirement he and Justyne took up residence in Florida, where they have enjoyed their time there.

Manny had served as Past President of the Data Processing Management Assoc., Member of the American Legion, and Member of the Lake Ashton Veteran’s Assoc., in FL. Manny was the unofficial Taps player for LAVA (Lake Ashton Veterans Association).  He & Justyne started and cofounded a lively neighborhood social group (Loop-Landers).

Manny enjoyed planning and taking family vacations, cruises & trips back to Portugal were always thoroughly enjoyed.
