Joseph A. Giordano, Jr. of Woburn, died peacefully, January 31st at the age of 68. He was the beloved husband of Midge (DeCelles) Giordano for 44 years.

Born in East Boston and raised in Woburn, Joe was the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen (DeSimone) Giordano. He was educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn Memorial High School and ITT Technical School. He was a mason by trade and worked for Stone Edge Design in Pepperell for 40+ years – the last 10 in the design/sales aspect of the business.

Joe cherished his family and any chance he could be with them, especially cooking breakfast, smoking ribs, the annual “friends and family” reunions; the block parties, camping trips, family vacations and the many holidays and bonfires at his brother Bob’s house. He loved to ice fish with his best friend Rich Johnson; hiking with his kids & his nephews; teaching his grandkids to surf cast; early morning walks with his dog Quincy, his beloved pug; reading and puttering around the yard.  Joe took immense pride in his yard and the many field-stone walls, bluestone patios and brick driveways he created.  His yard was his sanctuary.

Joe loved his trips to Florida with Midge to visit her family and traveling the national parks with their traveling companions, Jeanne & John Heos (his sister & brother-in- law). He was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Patriots and the Redsox, and he loved to play golf, although he would admit, not very well.

Joe was a kind and gentle soul who loved people, loved life and loved to laugh.  He was a guiding force, genuine and very content with his life
