Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Healy)(Power) Veno –  a longtime resident  of Woburn, died peacefully December 29th, at the age of seventy-nine. She was the beloved wife of Richard Veno and the late, William Power.

Born in Boston, Kathy was a daughter of the late Martin and Katherine (Kelly) Healy of Ireland. She was raised in Roslindale and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School. After meeting and marrying her first husband, Bill, they settled in his hometown to raise their family. After Bill’s death, Kathy dedicated her life to her four young children.   Kathy found love again when she met and married Richard (Dick) and their family expanded with the birth of their son, Gregory.  In June they celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Faith and family were the cornerstone of Kathy’s life.   She was a longtime commuincant of St. Anthony Church, served as a eucharistic minister, and enjoyed being part of the choir.  Kathy was grateful to have lived sober, one day at a time, for 50 years.  She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and helped many on their journey.

Kathy and Dick loved to welcome friends into their home and took great pride in Kathy’s talent for home decor, especially for her favorite Halloween Parade festivities.

Along with her husband Richard, Kathy is survived and will be deeply missed by her children Pamela Fitzgerald, her husband Mark of Nashua, NH, Shaun Power, his wife Ann Marie of Woburn, Kelly Power of Salem, Kristen Arcari, her husband Andrew of Danvers and Gregory Veno of Woburn.
