Jean (Sutherby) Sullivan – a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away after a very brief illness, August 8th, at Winchester Hospital.  The longtime companion and “Honey” of William “Bill” Murray, she was sixty-four years of age. “GEEPS!”

Born in Brighton, Jean was one of eight children born to the late George and Estelle (Kennego) Sutherby. While living in Woburn, Jean attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Somerville and later was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1973.

For thirty years Jean worked for the phone company and retired at the young age of 47. For many years, Jean worked the bar at the American Legion Post 101 and was loved by all the members, having made so many friendships throughout the years.

For the last seven years, Jean enjoyed spending her time volunteering at for the Blues for Veterans Association.

Jean adored her children, Michael and Amy.  She was devoted to them, but the bond she shared with her grandchildren was incredible!  Being ‘Grammy’ was her favorite thing.  Spending time with them and with her extended family was always full of fun and her most joyous times!  She also enjoyed playing Keno and scrabble and was always up for a game or two.

Summers were always special.  Jean cherished times spent at Sebago Lake in Maine with family and friends.  She enjoyed cookouts at Joe’s, live music, and dancing without a care in the world! Jean loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Ever a loving, caring, and selfless woman, Jean gave of herself in everything without complaint.  Honest to a fault, anyone whom ever met or befriended Jean is a better person for it!  Journeying together with her ‘Honey’ for the last 12 years, Bill Murray shared in all her wondrous family and life adventures.
