Daniel “Dan” Everett White, of Woburn, Mass., died after a short illness on July 14 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston at 50 years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Daniel was the beloved son of Bernadette “Bonnie” (Mawn) White-Mannion; her husband, Peter Mannion; and the late Roger White. He graduated from Woburn High School in 1988, then received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1992.

Dan’s Catholic upbringing was important to him, and he was a man of great faith. His fondest memories included spending time at Hampton Beach with his family. Growing up, Dan loved participating in the Woburn Boys and Girls Club programs, including the trivia teams. He developed a love of sports at a young age. Dan played varsity sports in high school and spent many years at Boston College with his father Roger, where he grew to love BC football.

Dan’s family, especially his children Megan and Matthew, meant the world to him. They have many cherished memories and went on amazing family vacations together.  He was a supportive and loving father who was very involved in their lives. He loved coaching and made lasting impressions on his children’s friends, as well.

Dan remained very close with his mom, brothers and their families throughout his lifetime. “The White Boys” had an unbreakable bond with one another. They were more than brothers — they were best friends. Dan loved visiting his mother, whether to help around the house or to sit on the back porch overlooking Horn Pond. He loved embellishing stories and spent many hours discussing politics, sports and the financial market with his stepfather, Peter.

For more than 24 years, Daniel worked for Health Plans, Inc., where he served as the Director of Sales. Dan loved his job. He mentored many through the years and made lifelong friends. His dedication to HPI and knowledge of the industry were incomparable. His colleagues will miss his sense of humor, quick wit and outgoing personality. Dan could pull up a chair and talk to anyone. He also coordinated and played in many charity golf tournaments. He was an active member of the Self Insurance Industry of America and the Society of Professional Benefits Administrators. Dan loved traveling and spoke on many industry panels.

Along with his mother, Bonnie, and her husband, Peter, Dan is survived by his wife, Michele (Kershaw) White, of Groveland. He was the cherished father of Matthew and Megan White of Groveland. He was the dear brother of Kevin White and his wife, Amy, of Marston Mills; Peter White and his wife, Lauren, of New Hampshire; and Roger White and his wife, Seema, of Woburn; as well as the dear stepbrother of Stephen Mannion and his wife, Lynn, of Texas; Peter Mannion Jr. of New York; Thomas Mannion and his wife, Stephanie, of Melrose; and Julie Rigazio and her husband, Jim, of Andover. Dan is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Dan’s beautiful smile and engaging personality will be lovingly remembered.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dan’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 18, in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, MA at 10 a.m., followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery in Winchester.
