Catherine M. (Barry) Donovan – of Woburn, July 10th at 100 years of age Beloved wife of the late Francis E. Donovan. Loving mother of Barry E. Donovan, his wife Rosemary of Woburn, Nancy F. Kelley, her husband Donald of Woburn, Joan M. DeDonato, her husband George of PA, Timothy L. Donovan, his wife Colleen of Stoneham, Mary Beth Graham, her husband Warren of NH and Robert F. Donovan, his wife Joanne of Woburn. Cherished “Mimi” of 13- Kerrie, Colleen, Kathleen, Kevin, Cynthia, Donald, Sean, Kaitlyn, Michelle, Kevin, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Christopher, and great-grandmother of 20!  Dear sister of the late John and Eugene Barry. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Catherine’s  Funeral Mass, Tuesday, July 14th at 10 a.m., in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn . Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. RELATIVES ONLY please, are invited to pay their respects prior to the Mass from 8:45-9:30 a.m., in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn MA.  Masks are required to enter the Funeral Home and Church, along with strict adherence to social distancing. Catherine M. (Barry) Donovan – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully July 10th, shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Donovan.

Born in the town Bellmore, NY on Long Island, Catherine was a daughter of the late Margaret (Callaghan) and John Barry. After the death of her parents when she was a young girl, Catherine moved with her brothers to Winchester, MA where she was raised and educated, and graduated from High School. Years later, Catherine attended Middlesex Community College, where she continued her education.

For nearly 20 years Catherine worked as a medical secretary for Winchester Pediatrics and then 15 years for the New England Rehabilitation Hospital, where she loved interacting with patients and their families.

Catherine enjoyed socializing with her family at all holiday events as well as many family gatherings throughout the year.  She loved walking the beach and swimming in the ocean.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Barry E. Donovan, his wife Rosemary of Woburn, Nancy F. Kelley, her husband Donald of Woburn, Joan M. DeDonato, her husband George of PA, Timothy L. Donovan, his wife Colleen of Stoneham, Mary Beth Graham, her husband Warren of NH and Robert F. Donovan, his wife Joanne of Woburn. Your mom was one of the kindest, happiest, caring people I had ever met As your friend in school, your mom treated me so well, she was loving towards us.     Barry & Nancy, so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She had a great life none-the-less. I remember her at the Rehab for many years and always enjoyed speaking to her. Don had just remarked the other day about her 100th birthday last weekend. So good that you had so many years with her. I will keep your family in my prayers.
