Carolyn F. (Corbett) Procopio – of Woburn, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 24th. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank V. “Parker” Procopio.

Born in Boston, Carolyn was a daughter of the late James and Matilda C. (Kelley) Corbett. She was raised in the Hammond Square Section of Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School.

For 32 years, Carolyn worked for GTE as a financial manager, until retiring in 1984.

Carolyn never had any children of her own but was the go-to aunt and surrogate mom to all her nieces and nephews, always giving the best advice. She was trustworthy and a woman that you could always count on, for anything!

Carolyn and her husband Parker enjoyed traveling, especially to tropical places and eventually made a home in Florida. Golfing was their favorite hobby and they traveled and played at many famous courses including in Palm Springs, Myrtle Beach and even at Larry Bird’s course.

Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. Dancing with her husband and card games on Friday nights with friends and family was a favorite. Carolyn would meet her family and friends every Saturday at Bickford’s in Woburn morning for over 30 years. They were known as the “Mary’s”.

Carolyn was a kind and generous woman who will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I worked with Carolyn at GTE in Needham and Westboro, she was an mid level manager in the Financial area. She was a tough task manager but was fair and an advocate for younger workers coming up and especially for younger female employs. She was kind and nurturing to her underlings. I haven’t seen her in years but remember her fondly. Yours Sympathetically.
