Grace Mary (Masotta) Castronova –  of Woburn, May 3rd, 2020 at ninety-three years of age.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Castronova.  Cherished mother of Frances “Fran” Pappas, her husband Robert “Bob” of Woburn, Joanne Sullivan, her husband Neal of Nahant, Edward Castronova, his wife Mary of Woburn, Grace Lentine of Billerica and her late daughter, Phyllis Fitchett and her fiancé Kip Keefe of Billerica.  Dear sister of  Suzanne Giglio of Woburn and the late John, Andrew, Sal, Joseph, Angelo, Philip, Mary and Stella.  Loving grandmother of thirteen grandchildren Laurie, Kim, Cindy, Melissa, Christine, Joseph W., Jennifer, Coreen, Kristin, Joseph C., Edward, Frankie and Casandra, nineteen great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, great and grand. Due to the current situation we are experiencing with the Corona Virus, arrangements are private and under the direction of the Lynch – Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.   Remembrances may be made in honor of Grace to the Alzheimers Association, 309 Waverly Road, Waltham, MA.

Grace M. (Masotta) Castronova – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, May 3rd, 2020, from complications of Covid-19, at ninety-three years of age.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Castronova.  

Born and raised in Woburn, Grace was a daughter of the late Catino and Phillipa (Maddalena) Massotta. She was educated in Woburn and attended Woburn High School. She met the love of her life Joseph Castronova at her first job, Lewis Candy factory in Malden. They married on July 6, 1947. They first resided in Woburn, and then later moved to Charlestown where they raised their five children.

Grace was a strong, hardworking woman who worked at Schraffts Candy Factory when she lived in Charlestown. On her move back to Woburn, she worked for Sylvania, then Polaroid, where she retired at 65. After her retirement, she continued to work full time for Woburn School Department until the age of 82.

Grace enjoyed large family gatherings for all occasions! She had many passions and loved to crochet, make flower arrangements, sew and go to yard sales and craft fairs with her daughters. She loved visiting casinos and made many trips to Atlantic City as well as Penobscot Bingo Hall in Maine, with her friend and travel partner, Bea McCue. She also played Bingo locally at many different halls with Pat Nelson.

Grace enjoyed life for many years with family, especially on hot summer weekends spent in Hampton and at Revere Beach. She loved drive-in movies with her children, started traveling with husband to Hawaii, San Francisco and Las Vegas.  

She was a loving wife, mother, friend, sister and grandmother who will be dearly missed, but leaving all her loved ones with with many happy memories.
