It is with great sadness that the devoted family of Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Cahill) Flaherty of Burlington, announce her passing,  April 22nd.  The beloved wife of the late Albert P. Flaherty Sr. she was eighty nine years of age.
Born and raised in Medford, Betty was the daughter of Irish immigrants the late, Thomas and Sarah (Shannon) Cahill. Betty graduated from Medford High School, then continuing on to work in Boston.  It was there that she met a group of friends and continued a wonderful friendship for 70 years.
Betty had an infectious smile and had lots of positive energy, which would light up any room she walked into.  She had the biggest heart and always went  above and beyond to help anyone in need.
Betty and Al spent many happy years residing in Florida after retirement for the winter months.  Betty loved her family dearly, enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she was so very proud of, and always sure to mention when she was out and about!
Betty thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the kitchen where she would bake sweets and share with neighbors, friends and family.  When you went to visit,  you never, ever left  without a “care” package!
Over the years, Betty was known for her keen sense of style and impecable fashion.   She loved to shop, being on the go and enjoyed eating out at several of her fine favorite restaurants.
Betty was a woman og tremendous faith and this she shared with her family.  Since being in Burlington, she was a very active participant in St. Malachy’s parish.  Family, friends and her dearly loved dog Raven, who was always at her side, were her world.  The love, joy and happiness of family, surrounded her throughout the years, and provided all with very sweet and tender memories.
Sadly Betty was pre deceased by her parents Tom and Sarah along with her dear husband Al and his son Bert.
Betty is lovingly survived by her children Susan Branley, her husband Kenneth of Wilmington, Barbara Hart, her husband Phillip of Burlington, Mary Beth Laing, her husband Norman of CA, and Janet Galante of Woburn, Donald A Galante, his wife Michelle of Easton and Michael J. Galante, his wife Diane of Billerica. Stepmother of Jean Starbile, her husband Paul of FL, Susan Flaherty of Derry NH.  Dear sister of the late Dorothy Pyche, Mary Johnson, Helen Cloherty and Rita Perry.  Loving grandmother of twelve grandchildren,  twenty – four great grandchildren along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
