Daniel J. “Dan” McLaughlin passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham, Sunday, March 1st. The beloved husband of Elizabeth (LoCicero) McLaughlin, was eighty four years of age.

Born in Winchester, he was the son of the late James A. and Mary (Kelly) McLaughlin. Dan was raised in Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School.

In 1962 he married his beloved sweetheart Elizabeth. Shortly after their marriage they made their home in Woburn where they raised their son and daughter.

Dan had been employed by the United States Postal Service and had the great opportunity of working in the same community that he lived!   He was a very popular mailman and known to the many along his route in East Woburn.

For over the last thirty years they have made their home in Florida! They enjoyed themselves thoroughly! Golfing almost every day, out in the sun, walking with friends, headed to the beach, enjoying the water and again, golfing! He and Elizabeth

Dan was also an active member of the Elks there in Florida, and also while he was in Woburn. Both in Woburn and Florida he had also tended the bar.

Last October, Dan and Elizabeth returned to Woburn due to health concerns and here they have remained.

Dan and Elizabeth were soul mates all throughout their lives. There was not anything in the world that they would not do for each other for over fifty eight years.

Sadly in January , they lost their daughter Kathy to cancer.

Dan is lovingly survived by his beloved wife of Elizabeth (LoCicero) McLaughlin, his son James A. “Jim” McLaughlin of Woburn, and his dear grandchildren Julianne F. Johnson, Matthew D. Johnson both of Woburn, Kyle A. Johnson, USMC of NC/Woburn, Valdemiro Melo, TX/Dracut and Dennis Melo of WV/Dracut. Brother of brother of James A. McLaughlin, his wife Margaret M. of Peabody.   A Funeral will be held on Friday, March 6th, in  St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Thursday evening 5 – 8 p.m..
