 Ellen M. (Syple) Shea – of Woburn, February 10th, at Winchester Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Charles H. Shea. Loving mother of Patricia A. Andersen and her late husband Robert J. of Woburn, Maryellen Butcher and her husband Edward of Billerica, Charles H. Shea Jr. of Woburn, William M. Shea of Woburn and Kelly M. Rose and her husband Robert J. of Derry, NH. Cherished grandmother of Robert J. Andersen, Edward Jr., Daniel and Thomas Butcher, Benjamin R. Shea, Kelsey, Jared, and Kaylee Rose and the late Michael Andersen and great-grandmother of Leandrew, Tyler, Cameron, Soleil, Kaya, Lucas and Leo. Dear sister of Corrine Tuells of Westwood, Mary Ranelli of Chelmsford, Agnes Evans of Arlington and the late Dorothy Harrison. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, February 14th at 9:00 A.M followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10.  Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling Hours, Thursday from 4-8.  In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in honor of Ellen to the Boston Childrens Hospital 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215 or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Ellen M. (Syple) Shea – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, Monday, February 10th, at Winchester Hospital, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Shea.

Born and raised in Cambridge, Ellen was a daughter of the late William and Anne Marie (Walsh) Syple. She was a graduate of of Cambridge Rindge and Latin.

In the late nineteen forties, while attending a dance at the Riverside Boat House on the Charles River, Ellen met her future husband and the love of her life, Charles Shea. They were married in 1952 and made their home in Woburn where they raised their five children. Her family was her world and she supported them in everything they did.  As a family they vacationed at Hampton Beach during the summer months, and had a ball together.

Ellen and Charlie enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and taking cruises. Ellen loved spending time with her family but especially loved going out and running errands with her daughters. Her family was her pride and joy and she would do anything for them. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
