Barbara A. (Calore) McIntyre – a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, January 21st, at her home, at the age of seventy-seven. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald C. McIntyre, who passed away in 2007.

Born and raised in Malden, Barbara was a daughter of the late Ettore and Lillian (Salvati) Calore. She was a graduate of Malden High School, with the Class of 1960. Barbara met her future husband Ronald on a blind date, set up by friends at a Malden High School, Thanksgiving football game. In 1966, they were married at Sacred Heart Church in Malden.

Shortly after getting married, Barbara and Ron made their home in Woburn, bringing three daughters and a son into the world. A dedicated and loving mother they were devoted to their family.  After children were on in school Barbara began working full time at the Woburn Housing Authority.  Barbara remained there for over 30 years, both in a full and later part time position. Barbara had retired just two years ago.

Barbara’s life was all about her family. She was a ray of sunshine in their lives! Always kind, thoughtful, helpful and never, ever, forgot a birthday or any families special event. When her family was young, they enjoyed taking camping trips together and enjoyed visiting Sandy Beach, Pine Knoll, and Pine Acres, where lots of fun was had and many, many happy memories!  They also had a boat (Reel Time)which provided for many additional activities such as fishing, swimming, and just going for a ride!

As the years went on and grandchildren came into the world, Barbara’s focus was all on her family. Taking care of her grandchildren and traveling with them to various fun places including Disney Puerto Rico, Sea Island, and Turks and Caicos which were the best!

When Barbara had downsized her home, she moved to a community that truly was a terrific familial spot.  Friendly neighbors, good times, always  sharing very special times and moments with her friends there.

A very faithfilled woman, Barbara was a lovingly devoted wife, mother, “Nannie”, sister and aunt. There was not anything in this world she would not do for any one of them.   Barbara openly shared her love with them all, each and every day.
