Cheryl (Haney) Lombardo, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Sunday morning, January 12th. The beloved wife of Frank Lombardo, she was thirty-three years of age.

Born in Woburn, Cheryl was the loving daughter of David and Susan (Peary) Haney of Woburn. Raised and educated in the South end of Woburn, Cheryl was one of two children in the Haney family.

Throughout her school years, Cheryl was actively involved in many different sporting activities. She began playing in the soccer program early on in life, and also enjoyed basketball on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She thoroughly enjoyed skating through the program at the Joyce Middle School, having achieved it’s highest award when she was a Senior in high school. Cheryl became actively involved in the WMHS Track program, having made the State Tournaments on several occasions, individually and in the group division, really enjoying each and every meet. She graduated High School in 2004.

Summers were always fun in the Haney household. Hampton Beach was the destination where they would share fun in the sun surrounded by family and friends. In later years Nubble Light held a very special place in the hearts of she and Frank and their children. Following high school, Cheryl went on to Cosmetology School.

Cheryl began working at Santander Bank here in Woburn, where she met Frank Lombardo, to whom she has been married to for over nine years. They made their home in her family homestead, where they have settled in and made their home with their children.

Cheryl never left any dust under her feet! She was full of energy and active in everything that her children were involved in. She took an active role in teaching CCD at St. Charles Church, organized the Christmas Pageant for the last several years that was performed at Mass for Christmas Day, coached cheerleading and was a “cheer mom” organizing all that was necessary to have a successful and cohesive organization.

Throughout the school year Cheryl was actively involved at the White Elementary School, as a Paraprofessional, assisting both the teachers  and students.

Directions to anywhere, were always somewhat difficult for Cheryl, including, in and about Woburn!! She was absolutely elated once she mastered the GPS, it was a whole new world and she could find anywhere! Just last year the family had taken a wonderful trip to Disney, where everyone shared a wonderful experience!

Cheryl will be remembered as a very warm, caring, generous, and most importantly loving person . Family was always number one, first and foremost in her life and her friends (of which there are many) were right behind her family.

Cheryl’s life was full, and in the very short amount of time she graced this earth, she will be long remembered for all the  hearts and lives she touched! She will be greatly missed but never forgotten!
