Robert G. Heitz – of Woburn, a lifelong resident of Winchester, and longtime summer resident of Maidstone, VT, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 25, at the age of eighty-nine. He was the beloved husband of the late Bertha (Penney) Heitz.

Born in Medford but raised in Winchester, Robert was a son of the late Henry and Susan (McElhiney) Heitz. After graduating from Winchester High School, Bob started working for Bonnell Ford where he had a long illustrious career.

Bob was a lifelong member of the Winchester Lodge of Elks and a Life Member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Some of Bob’s most enjoyable times were spent at his lake house on Maidstone Lake in Vermont. Memorable times were spent driving a four wheeler out in the woods and back roads with his children and grandchildren, observing the flora and fauna of nature. Many a hot summer’s night was spent out of the deck with family and friends, looking out over the lake enjoying the cool breeze and sharing stories and jokes, and feeding peanuts to “Bertha’s” chipmunks. Many of his later years were spent in Florida in the winter months enjoying the warm winter sun with Bob Jr. and Joann, making new friends at the Boca Raton Elks and the West Palm Beach Moose Club.

He was the loving brother-in-law of the late Alice E. Penney. Cherished father of Robert G.
