Joseph “Joey” A. DePrimeo Domenici, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, November 4th, at twenty one years of age. Joey was the beloved son of Carla Domenici Bell, her husband Scott Bell of Woburn and Anthony DePrimeo.

Born in Winchester, Joey has been a lifelong Woburnite. Raised in the East Woburn section of the city, he attended Woburn Schools.

Joey was a gifted athlete, particularly in baseball and football. He spent a year playing football for Malden Catholic on scholarship, where he met many of his lifelong friends. He continued his football career at Woburn High School, where graduated with the Class of 2016.

Everyone loved Joey. Everyone. His smile was huge and his laugh was contagious. He had a magnetic personality, a hilarious sense of humor and he loved to make people laugh. He was extremely intelligent, and he had a very kind and caring heart. He loved his girlfriend Mikayla, who, along with his family, stood by him and never stopped believing in him.

Joey loved his family. His family was his whole world. He loved his brothers unconditionally, and when it came to his sisters, the sky was the limit. He would (and did) do anything for them. He was very close to his grandparents, as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins- He had a huge family that loved him, he knew that, and he always made time for them.

Joey treasured the time he had with his parents. At home, vacations or just “hanging out,” Joey thoroughly enjoyed his home, and shared a great love for everyone there. His mother adored him, and always believed that he could change the world. And he did. He changed our world. The joy, laughter and love that he brought to his family is a gift we will keep close to our hearts forever.

  7. I will never forget that first Saturday morning when our boys were in Kindergarten when Joey called to see if he could come over…it was 6:am on a Saturday morning and he was as bright as if it was noon. That was the beginning of my introduction to Joey and years of friendship between he and Ronnie. We all loved Joey and he was always welcome at our home. Joey knew how to live and experience life like no other. In some ways he probably packed in more in his 21 years than most do in a lifetime. His impact was deep and profound and he will always be a part of us. I am so sorry Carla, Scott, Alyssa and Sammi. We lost a shining soul and it hurts.
