Buddy Day

Buddy Day –  in Woburn, November 3rd after a lengthy illness, at seventy years of age.  Beloved husband of Terry (Black) Day.  Loving father of John Day, his wife Kim, and Tricia Day-Cassidy, all of Woburn.  Dear brother of Paul Day and his wife Sandra of Halifax, Kathy Spencer of VT, Betty Jane Day of NH, Rebecca Green and her husband Joseph of FL, and the late Robert Day.  Cherished Grandfather of Brian Downey and his wife Sarah, Kristen Downey and her fiancé Jared Fallon, Jason Downey, Shelby Cassidy and her companion Daniel Leone, Stephan Cassidy, Zachary Day, and Madison Day.  Buddy is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, November 8th at 10:30 a.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral .  At the families request, remembrances may be made in Buddy’s honor to the Victory Junction.org or Victory Junction Camp, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317.

Buddy Day –a longtime resident of Woburn, died peacefully, November 3rd after a lengthy illness, at seventy years of age. He was the beloved husband of Terry (Black) Day, with whom he would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on November 16th.

Born and raised in Woburn, Buddy was the son of the late Elizabeth (Lynch) and Milton “Bud” Day Jr. At a young age, Bud started working for the family business, Woburn Auto Parts as an auto recycler, until it’s closing in 1986. He then transitioned to working at Holland’s Auto Parts in Billerica until ending his career at Shea Concrete in Billerica where he made many lasting relationships.

Bud was an avid NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing fan. He enjoyed traveling the country for different NASCAR races and when he was young, worked as an automotive tech for NHRA.

Bud was a talented carpenter and a jack of all trades. He was creative and enjoyed sign carving and building things small and large. He was a loving man with a sense of humor and dry whit that would be easily remembered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Along with his wife Terry, Buddy is survived by his children John Day, his wife Kim, and Tricia Day-Cassidy, all of Woburn.     We are so sorry to hear about Buddy. We are saying a prayer for all of you and sending our love. We are unable to attend the service as we are in New Zealand until 11/22 and will be thinking of you over the next few days.
