Daniel “Danny” Leo Desmond, 67, of Woburn, MA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Jeanne (Miller) Desmond of Woburn

Danny, born in Woburn, was the son of the late Arthur and Jennie (Jurevicz) Desmond.  Danny attended Woburn Schools, and was a graduate of  Woburn High School,Class of 1970.  Following high school,  Danny began working for the Woburn Department of Public Works as a welder.  He remained there for several years and then left to study technology.  Upon completion of his further education, Danny secured himself a position as an Engineering technician at Analog Devices, where he remained until his retirement in April of 2017.

Danny had a lifetime passion for traveling!  He and his wife Jeannie were able to travel all around the world in his younger years. Some of their most memorable adventures included skiing the Alps in Zermatt, Switzerland, hiking the Canadian Rocky Mountains and exploring the ruins of the Yucatan in Mexico.

He had a deep love and respect for animals and always had a much-loved dog by his side. Growing up, Danny loved playing hockey and played in multiple leagues. He loved reminiscing about those times with his hockey buddies.

Above all, as a devoted family man, what he cherished most in life was spending time with his beloved daughters and he was always so proud of their accomplishments.

David, Elaine, Terry, John and Danny’s Family:

So sorry to hear about Danny’s passing, my condolences to your family. I have all fond memories of the Desmond family in my life, mostly hockey with David and Danny. I also had the privilege of working with Danny, David, and Terry at the barns for the city. Hockey at Gorg arena and so many great hockey stories.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time and may your good memories sustain you through this.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Connolly

  5. Sorry to the Desmond family for your loss. I cannot make it tomorrow for the services. It was Danny and David that introduced me to hockey – skating down the quarry – Horn Pond – and building the rink at Chuck Gonsalves AKA Gorg’s rink in his back yard.

    With deepest sympathy,
    Your neighbor and friend,
    Paul Hunt
