Paul McDonald – a lifetime resident of Woburn, passed peacefully, Thursday, October 17th at the age of fifty-five, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Paul was the beloved husband of thirty – one years to Michelle (Dabrieo) McDonald.

Born in Woburn, Paul was the cherished son of William Paul McDonald Sr, his wife Joyce and the late Janet (Reebenacker)McDonald.  Raised and educated in the Central Square part of the city, Paul attended the White Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Middle School and went on to graduate from Woburn High School, with the Class of 1982. Paul furthered his education attending Fitchburg State College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.

During Paul’s Senior year, he asked Michelle to the Christmas Dance and that is when their relationship began. They enjoyed all of the events of Senior year and went on to attend Fitchburg State together, both graduating with the Class of 1986. In 1988 they married, settled in Woburn, where they have made their home and raised their family.

In the late 1980’s Paul started working at Johnson Roses, which later became Bay State Farm Direct Flowers, where Paul worked as a salesman, right up until a year ago. Paul worked alongside his Dabrieo Brothers for over 30 years and became a daily part of his customers and coworkers lives. Paul took great pride in his home and its landscape paying great attention to the finer details of a pristine lawn, and it showed!

Over the years, Paul and Michelle were quite busy raising their two children, Lauren and Jonathan.  Paul was active in coaching his son’s Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams, becoming a beloved Coach in the community. Paul always maintained that he never lost a championship game in either league!

Watching sports was always an event with the volume on high and a miller lite in hand. From September until the Super Bowl, Thursday through Monday was dedicated to football (or any sport that was on). Paul loved to be around his friends down at the Towanda Club especially Thanksgiving morning when he would have breakfast and beverages to start his favorite holiday.

Paul was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  He took great joy in all that he and his family did throughout the years.  His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all whom he loved.

Along with his dear wife of thirty-one years, Michelle, Paul is lovingly survived by his children Lauren McDonald-Roffi, her husband Brian Roffi and Jonathan McDonald, all of Woburn. Cherished son of the late Janet (Reebenacker) McDonald, William Paul McDonald Sr., his wife Joyce McDonald of Woburn. Loving brother of Brian McDonald, his wife Nicole, David McDonald, his wife Robin, all of Woburn, Kerri Stanhope, her husband Ryan of Auburn, Paula Ford of FL, and Susan Willette of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Sean Patrick Hall and Brycen McDonald. Also survived by many loving members of the McDonald and Dabrieo Clans.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday, October 22nd at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10.  Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery.
