Louis J. Castiglione, 88, of Woburn, peacefully, Wednesday, July 31st. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Mary (Buzzotta) Castiglione. Loving father of Frank L. Castiglione, his wife Michelle of Reading. Cherished “Papa” of Nicholas Castiglione and Zachary Castiglione, both of Reading. Dear brother of Joseph Castiglione, his wife Marie of Woburn, Marie Scionti, her husband Anthony of Haverhill and the late Pauline Ciulla and Frank Castiglione. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on FRIDAY, August 2nd at 10:45 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., prior to the Mass. Interment And Military Honors to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in Louis’ memory to Disabled American Veterans State House, Room 546 Boston, MA 02133

Louis J. Castiglione, 88, a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 31st at CareOne in Wilmington, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Mary (Buzzotta) Castiglione, whom passed in 2002.

Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (DeVito) Castiglione. After High School, Louis served his country proudly as part of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, until being honorably discharged.

For many years, Louis worked in Heavy Construction as an Iron Fabricator. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a precision mechanical inspector.

Louis was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Red Sox and Patriots. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and traveling with his wife. His family and friends meant the world to him and he loved entertaining. He will be deeply missed.
