Joseph J. Nicosia– 90, of Woburn, Sunday, July 28th. Dear brother of Paul D. Nicosia, Mary A. White, her husband Harold, and the late Adolph “Al”, Ann, Marion, Americo “Rico” and Gaetano “Tony”.  Loving sister-in-law Margaret Nicosia. Cherished uncle of Gail White, Donna Grieb, Robin White, Wayne White, Keith White, Joseph Nicosia, and Susan Brennan. Great uncle of Melissa, Jason, David, Kathryn, Michael, Sophia, Natalie, Caroline. Great-Great uncle of Morgan and Lylah. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch – Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St, Woburn, on Wednesday July 31st at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to an hour of visitation at 10 A.M. prior to the Funeral Service. Internment to follow in the Veterans lot at Woodbrook Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made in Joe’s memory to: W.R.E.N. 6 Thornton St, Woburn, MA 01801-3421

 

Joseph J. Nicosia, a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully Sunday, July 28th, at the age of ninety.

Born and educated in Woburn and raised in the South-end section, Joseph was the son of the late Michael and Biagia (Capella) Nicosia. He was a 1946 graduate of Woburn Highschool. Upon graduation, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would proudly served his country for four years during the Korean Conflict.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Joseph began working for the US Post Office where he remained until he was 75 years old.

Joe was very active throughout his life and could often be found at the “Old YMCA”. He enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, skeet shooting, walking the Pond and bird watching. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching College sports and the Patriots.

Joseph is survived by his siblings, Paul D. Nicosia, Mary A. White, her husband Harold, and the late Adolph “Al”, Ann, Marion, Americo “Rico” and Gaetano “Tony”. Cherished uncle of Gail White, Donna Grieb, Robin White, Wayne White, Keith White, Joseph Nicosia, and Susan Brennan. Great uncle of Melissa, Jason, David, Kathryn, Michael, Sophia, Natalie, Caroline. Great-Great uncle of Morgan and Lylah.
