Jacqueline A. “Jackie” (Winn) Mahoney – of Wakefield, formerly of Woburn, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 24th, after a brief illness, at Massachusetts General Hospital, with family right at her side.  Jackie was the beloved wife of Jack Mahoney and was sixty-eight years of age.

Born and raised in the south end of Woburn, Jackie was one of eight children the late Robert and Jeanne (Garvey) Winn. She was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School, along with the Class of 1968.

Throughout her high school years, Jackie was very active throughout her four years having been a cheerleader, involved in athletics, participating in committees that promoted class involvement. After high school Jackie went on to Grahm Jr. College where she received her Associates Degree. During her High School and College years Jackie also found time to work at their family owned trucking company, Winn Trucking. When Jackie wasn’t there, she would assist Jack’s Aunt Mavis, at McGrath Travel Agency!

In the ninth grade she met Jack Mahoney and together they travelled through high school, their college years and the next forty-seven years together as husband and wife!  They brought into the world four wonderful children who were their pride and joy.

Throughout Jackie’s life she totally involved herself in her children’s educational and sporting activities, both in and out of school.  From preschool through college, town activities, programs and team sports, whatever needed to be accomplished, Jackie was right there to see it through.

Summer months were enthusiastically spent between Rye and Seabrook, New Hampshire with family and friends;  fall months they would all join on “Patriot Sunday’s” where the entire family would gather and cheer on the Patriots!  Super Bowl Sunday, again an extravaganza!!

It was a special time for all the Winn’s and Mahoney’s aunts, uncles, cousins and friends gathered for those special times.

Jackie’s “favorite” holiday was that of Christmas.  For as far back as when their children began arriving, their home entertained all of Jackie’s siblings and their children and families to celebrate the day.

Jack and Jackie were able to travel over the years having been all throughout Europe, Portugal , Hawaii and various cruises throughout the world.

The dining room table was the place for all her sisters and very dear high school friends to gather frequently over many, many years, so as to keep up with each other, staying close remembering the past and sharing the future, all throughout the years!

Jackie’s life was short by many standards, but what she accomplished in sixty-eight years, with class, dignity and a huge heart, can never be measured by time.

Jackie’s gentle, kind and concerning ways were attributes that clearly defined her.  The unconditional love that streamed endlessly throughout her lifetime is truly a legacy, which will be long lasting and forever remembered by those who had the pleasure of sharing in her life.

Sadly, Jackie was predeceased by her dear parents and brother Robert.

Along with her husband, Jack Mahoney of forty-seven years, Jackie is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Lauren Mahoney, Jon Mahoney, his wife Laurie, Garrett Mahoney, his wife Nicole and Matthew Mahoney, his wife Tara all of Wakefield. Devoted sister of Brian Winn, Deborah Winn Robinson, Marcia Libbey, her husband George, Jeannie Fitzpatrick, Allison Ray, her husband Jody, Michelle Doherty, her husband Brian all of Woburn and the late Robert M. Winn.

Cherished grandmother of Jack, Madeleine, Joseph, Mackenzie, Annabelle, Mae and Austin Mahoney. Jackie is also survived by many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St., Woburn on Saturday, June 29th at 9 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours Friday, June 28th from 3-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. 1. Jackie Jackie Jackie, where have you gone and left us all. Would much rather be there in person, but car issue won’t get me there. A neighbor who was not always there, but always in spirit and will continue to be. You were at the ‘other beach’ enjoying your endearing family but always looked forward to saying hi with all your other sisters when you did arrive at your Seabrook home.
Words escape me as emotions arise feeling the loss. But knowing that you will soon join your family and George and Doris soon…..your neighbor Kathy

  18. Dianne Connor Carbone

I am so sad to lose such a great friend. I’m thankful for being a part of her life since Grammar school. We have lots of stories to tell, some we can’t, lots of laughs, been to all our kids weddings, but to have to endure this is heartbreaking. She faced this with courage, strength, and love for all those around her. Admiration in her journey doesn’t even begin to tell her story. Our circle is broken.. The girls love you as you love us.
    Dianne
