Jean S. (Dango) MacDonald of Woburn. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. MacDonald and Harold “Ziggy” Essigmann. Devoted mother of David MacDonald of Woburn, Robert MacDonald of Lexington, Patricia Downs, her husband David of NH, Kimberly MacDonald, her husband Jason Hough of Hubbardston, and the late Bernard MacDonald. Cherished grandmother of Andrea, Brenda, Bobby, Jimmy, Timmy, David Jr., Jenni, Peter, Joshua, Daniel, William, David H. and the late, Crystal and great-grandmother to many. Dear Sister of Betty Garbino of Woburn, the late Dominic, Charles, Mike, Frank, and Anthony Dango, and the late Lena McSweeney, Anna Callahan and Rose Kirk. Adored aunt of many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Monday, June 10th at 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Woodbrook Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Jean’s honor to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Jean S. (Dango) MacDonald, 85, of Woburn, died peacefully, Monday, June 3rd, at Winchester Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. MacDonald and Harold “Ziggy” Essigmann.

Born in Woburn, Jean was a daughter of the late Geatano “Tony” and Jennie (Gentile) Dango. She was a graduate of Woburn High School and later went on to receive her Certified Nurses Aide certificate.

For many years, Jean worked as a CNA for various hospitals, including the Choate and Winchester Hospital. She dedicated her time to those in need and was always there to lend a helping hand.

In recent years, Jean enjoyed her position as a warden at the voting polls in Woburn. She enjoyed spending time and camping in the mountains with her husband, Ziggy, and the many VFW trips she shared with Ziggy and friends.

She dedicated her life to her family, who she would do anything for. She was adored by many and will never be forgotten.

Jean is survived and be deeply missed by her children, David MacDonald of Woburn, Robert MacDonald of Lexington, Patricia Downs, her husband David of NH, Kimberly MacDonald, her husband Jason Hough of Hubbardston, and the late Bernard MacDonald. Cherished grandmother of Andrea, Brenda, Bobby, Jimmy, Timmy, David Jr., Jenni, Peter, Joshua, Daniel, William, David H. and the late, Crystal and great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to many.     Dear Aunt Jean, May the angels carry you off to Heaven to be with all of those in your family who have passed before you.

    My heartfelt sympathy goes out to your children, grandchildren and great & great-great grandchildren. Jean had a beautiful smile. Youngest sister to my Dad, Tony Dango, she was loved by many during her life.
