Eugene J. “Gene” Delaney, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Friday evening,  after a lingering illness, at the age of sixty-eight.  Gene was the beloved partner of Carl D. Badmington.

Born in Boston Gene was one of three children born to the late Francis and Ellen (O’Shea) Delaney.  Steeped in Irish heritage, Gene was raised in Dorchester, and was a graduate of Boston Trade High School.

After high school Gene secured himself a position at the Boston Edison.  He remained working their for over the next thirty eight years.  Gene served as a  Technician and had worked at all over the state! From the L Street Plant to Plymouth Nuclear  Power Plant, Kneeland Street, Edgar Station in Weymouth to Winchester, where he remained several years prior to his retirement.

Living in Dorchester, Gene and Carl established a wonderful friendship that covered over fclose to fifty five years!  Together they managed to do quite a bit of travelling.  From the glitz in Las Vegas , to camping sites at the bottom of Grand Canyon, all throughout Arizona, the Hoover Dam and  throughout Nevada, they made their way.    They also had a fabulous opportunity to train across Canada and all throughout America.  They experienced every knook, cranney, and corner of both countries, really not missing anything!

Gene and Carl had maintained a wonderful relationship with their nieces and nephews.  Throughout the years, they had shared in many of the family gatherings, always looking forward to their many wonderful accomplishments.

Gene was a hard working, happy, humble  and somewhat quiet gentleman. Kindness, generosity and a wonderful zest for life, describe a man who was cherished by so many.

Sadly, Gene was predeceased by his parents and his dear brother Francis. Beloved partner of Carl D. Badmington of Woburn.  Dear brother of Mary Ellen Cheverie of ME and the late Francis B. Delaney.  Gene is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
