Linda E. (Gillis) Bouchie, passed away at Tufts Medical Center early Tuesday morning, May 7th with her beloved family surrounding her.  The devoted wife of Richard “Richie” Bouchie, she was just seventy-two years of age.

Born in Boston, Linda was one of four children born to the late Alexander and Jeannette (Murray) Gillis.  Having lived in Winthrop until the age of seven, Linda’s family settled into North Woburn where they made their home.  She attended Woburn Public Schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School along with the Class of 1965.

While in the eighth grade, Linda met a wonderful young man Richie Bouchie.  Through high school, through college, through the Vietnam War and for the last forty-nine years, as husband and wife, they have made this journey together.

They brought four wonderful children into the world, to who they were devoted. Vacations while raising the family, always included extended family members.  Sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins, all would venture north to Seabrook for many years and other beaches by the ocean over the years for summer vacation.

Linda remained at home while the children were growing up and when the last child went to middle school, Linda went back to a profession that she so loved, fashion. Linda had attended Garland Jr, College after high school where she received her associate’s degree in textiles and finishing.

Over the last, almost thirty years Linda earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues at TJ Maxx. Linda served as Manager for almost all those years, having retired in 2015.

Linda was a sports fan from the “get go!”  She knew the names, positions and statistics about every Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins player!  Loved going to the games, watching on TV, visiting all the “summer camps”; she even had the opportunity of meeting Edelman at a practice session!

This love of family, sports and life was well developed over the years.  Linda’s family learned first hand how very important family is.  Now with the grandchildren, “Nana” has instilled in them that true value.  Throughout the years Linda was actively involved in ALL their social and academic worlds, attending everything there was for each grandchild, right up to recently.

A selfless, kind, thoughtful and generous person, Linda lived a life that was full.  She instilled all the important values that she exemplified, in each one of her children and has watched as they have passed it on to their loved ones; a true and lasting gift.

Linda is lovingly survived by her beloved husband Richard Bouchie of Wilmington. Cherished mother of Richard P. Bouchie, his wife Kristy of Tewksbury, Noel Cali, her husband Christopher, Nicole Anderson, her husband Carl and Rebecca Lawler, her husband Michael, all of Wilmington. Dear sister of Edward Gillis, his wife Maureen of FL, Susan Carroll, her late husband Paul of Woburn and Maryellen Carbone, her husband Ralph of NH. Adored Nana of Megan, Michael, Luc, Gabe, Matthew, Christopher, Alexander, Drew and Jack. Loving sister-in-law of Mary Lou Francis, her late husband Robert of FL, as well as survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, May 10th at 9 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10 a.m.  Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Calling Hours on Thursday , 3-7 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Linda’s memory to the PKD Foundation PO Box 871847 Kansas City, MO 64187.

One could say so much about Linda, and still there would be so much more that you would feel would go unsaid. So allow me to say this. She was a light, a mother figure, a hope in a world where you are no longer sure there is much of it. She will be missed. I only knew her for 3 years or so, so i do not know if i have a right to say this, but I love you Linda, and i will miss you.
