Mary Jo (DeTeso) Fralick, passed away at her home Sunday morning, April 28th, with her beloved family at her bedside.  The loving wife of John “Jack” Fralick, she was just sixty- one years of age.

Born in Winchester, Mary Jo was the daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (DeTeso) DeTeso.  Raised and educated in Winchester, Mary Jo was a graduate of Winchester High School along with the Class of 1975.

Continuing on with her education, Mary Jo graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Consumer Science, in 1980.

While at UMass she was introduced to Jack Fralick and to whom she was married in 1983.  They journeyed over the next thirty six years together having brought three wonderful children into the world.  They made their home in North Woburn and there she dedicated herself to her family.

Always a woman who absolutely loved every sport, was actively involved in each of her children’s academic and sporting activities.  All three children were active in sports all throughout the years.  From the wrestling mats, softball, football and baseball fields, basketball courts, and soccer games, Mary Jo never missed a practice let alone a game!  Always there to support her children, rain, snow, sleet and shine, in any and all ways possible.

A very creative and talented woman, when the children were young they bought an RV;  Mary Jo reupholstered all the seats and for years, off they would go during the spring and summer months camping through out the New England area and eastern sea coast.  Attending concerts, filling her “bucket list” of going to every beach between Maine and Virginia, and spending at least a day there, in the wonderful sun, next to the ocean, taking in all the joy that every beach brought to her.

Once the children were all in school, Mary Jo secured herself in the Woburn Public Schools, where she has taught for the last twenty years.

Mary Jo was highly respected amongst her colleagues at both the Kennedy Middle School and Woburn Memorial High School for her outstanding creativity and imagination she used day to day in teaching her consumer science classes.

During the spring, summer and fall gardening in the yard was a delight for Mary Jo She knew and grew a variety of many different colorful flowers and bushes throughout the yard.

Mary Jo’s family was always first and foremost throughout her life. She and her dear husband Jack, side by side throughout the years, enjoying trips together, family travels or long walks together along the sea shore, brought great joy to their souls.

Over the last several months, life was difficult for Mary Jo.  Never, at any given time did Mary Jo waiver in her strength, or determination, to live each day to the fullest with all the faith, zest and love she greeted each new day with for sixty one years.

Sadly, Mary Jo was predeceased by her parents Rocco and Josephine, her dear sister Rosemarie along with her husband John Tranfaglia.

Mary Joe is lovingly survived by her dear husband of thirty six years, Jack, and their children John R. III, his wife Chelsea of Wilmington, Jodi R. Kenton, her husband Joseph and Jenna R. Fralick, her boyfriend Eric DeSantis all of Woburn.  Dear sister of David DeTeso, his wife Peggy of TX, Kathy Ford, her husband Gene of Winchester and the late Rosemarie Tranfaglia, and her late husband John. and Mary Jo’s cherished grandson Luke Kenton.
