B. Theresa (Landy) Tropea – of Woburn Tuesday, April 23rd at ninety years of age.   Beloved wife of the late Vincent C. “Jimmy” Tropea.  Dear stepmother of Arleen Sieg of NY and Maureen Addy of ID.  Cherished sister of Ann T. Mulkerin of Woburn and the late John Landy of Billerica. Devoted Aunt of Joanne Mulkerin of Woburn, John Mulkerin of Ipswich and Stephen Mulkerin of Burlington, Mary, John and Terrance Landy all of Billerica, Patrick Landy of North Reading, Margaret “Peggy” Tripodi of Billerica, Mara Landy-Fidler of South Shore, along with other nieces and nephews. 11 Great Nieces and Nephews and 10 Great Great Nieces and Nephews.  A Funeral willl be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, April 27th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours PRIOR to the Funeral from 9-10:30 a.m.  Remembrances may be made towards the Middlesex Lions, c/o Claire Murphy, 5 Pickering Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

B. Theresa (Landy) Tropea, of Woburn, died peacefully, April 23rd, at ninety years of age.

Born in Woburn in 1928, Theresa was raised and resided in the family home on Eastern Ave., in Woburn throughout her life. Theresa was the daughter of the late John and Bridget (Grealish) Landy of Woburn. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1946. Following High School, Theresa went on to work for John Hancock, until retiring.

In 1970, Theresa married Vincent “Jimmy” Tropea, and celebrated 44 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. The two enjoyed traveling and saw much of the country in their years together. Their sole oversees destination was Ireland, where they found great affection for the landscape and culture, and enjoyed many trips to. In 1989, Theresa and Jimmy purchased a condo in Clearwater, FL where she was able to escape the New England winters and enjoy the warmer weather surrounded by great, lifelong friends.

Theresa also worked at J. Mulkerin Realty in Woburn as a Realtor for more then 25 years, and was a charter member of the Middlesex Lions Club in Woburn.

Theresa’s faith was of utmost importance to her and she was a devoted parishioner of St. Charles Church. Her greatest loves were of God and her family. Her devotion to loved ones was reciprocated in her final years, when her need for extra care was fulfilled by her special brother-in-law Michael “Mickey” Tropea, who cared for both Theresa and Jimmy for many years, along with her niece Joanne Mulkerin.

Theresa is loving survived by her stepdaughters, Arleen Sieg of NY and Maureen Addy of ID. Cherished sister of Ann T. Mulkerin of Woburn and the late John Landy of Billerica. Devoted Aunt of Joanne Mulkerin of Woburn, John Mulkerin of Ipswich and Stephen Mulkerin of Burlington, Mary, John and Terrance Landy all of Billerica, Patrick Landy of North Reading, Margaret “Peggy” Tripodi of Billerica, Mara Landy-Fidler of South Shore, along with other nieces and nephews, including 11 Great Nieces and Nephews and 10 Great Great Nieces and Nephews.

    Theresa was one of the greatest people I have ever known. She broke the mold of what stepmothers are. Appreciate all that you have ever done for me and my three boys. We love you always.
