Roberta J. “Bobbie” (Malatesta) MacCutcheon, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 5th, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was seventy-two years of age.

Born in Everett, and raised in Burlington, Bobbie was a daughter of the late Alfred and Louise (Imbriano) Malatesta. She was educated in Burlington and a 1964 graduate of Burlington High School. She then attended Malden Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1967.  Her education continued at Carney Hospital, where she became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

For many years, Bobbie worked as a Nurse Anesthetist at Lahey Clinic.  She was proud and passionate about her work and became a mentor and friend to many of her fellow colleagues.

Bobbie could often be quoted saying “Carpe Diem” and certainly lived her life by that. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her family and friends, especially trips to the beach and Disney. She was very active and enjoyed skiing and bike riding and was also a very proud Red Sox fan.

Her family, however, was always her number one priority and greatest accomplishment. She was devoted, supportive and generous and would do anything for the ones she loved. She could always be found at one of her grandchildren’s school or sporting events, being their biggest cheer leader. Bobbie was also an exceptional cook and loved hosting family and friends for Holiday’s, Birthday’s or any occasion.

Bobbie had a deep and devout faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Barbara’s’ Church in Woburn.

Bobbie is survived and will be deeply missed by her children Kristin M. MacCutcheon of Burlington and Michael F. MacCutcheon II, his wife Ashley of Woburn and their father Michael F. So sorry to hear about Bobbie. I have looked for her for many years. We were close friends in high school. I remember going to her dorm at Malden Hospital and one of her friends pierced my ears. They are still crooked. We often sat in the around the table in the house in Burlington.
