Charles E. “Charlie” Cogan Jr., formerly of Woburn, died peacefully, Sunday evening February 10th, at his residence. He was forty-nine years of age.

Charlie was born in Winchester, the beloved son of the late Charles E. and Rose T. (Thorne) Cogan. One of four children he was raised and educated in Woburn, where he graduated from Woburn High School.

Throughout the years Charlie was very active in the Special Olympics that was held at the Joyce Middle School over the years. A very perky and out going young man, Charlie always enjoyed playing Bingo with his friends and every week partaking in a bowling league!

Charlie became involved with the Vinfin organization in Peabody. Charlie made his home in Peabody for over twenty years, and established some long time friendships there. Being with, about and around people, was an all time favorite of Charlie’s. Whether he was walking with, talking too or listening and awaiting the arrival of his housemates, he was present to whatever it was he was doing.

Benefiting from schedules, routine and consistency, Charlie was truly a young man who lived his life to the fullest. The day was never complete without him viewing his favorite show, Family Feaud! Happily, always with a smile, a heart-full of love for all those whom he had met along the way, is the way Charlie will always be remebered.

Loving brother of Michael T. Cogan and his wife Kelly of Lowell, Edward A. Cogan and his wife Melissa of NH, and Kellie A. Leonardo and her husband Paul of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and his best friends, Joseph and John.
