Frances M. “Fran” (Tiso/Bastolla) LeFave, passed away December 26th, at her home, at sixty-five years of age.  Fran was the beloved wife of John P. LeFave, who passed away in 2016.

Born in Woburn, Fran was the daughter of Joseph Bastolla of Woburn and the late Mary (Stella) Bastolla.  Growing up in the Hammond Square section of the city, she went to Woburn Schools, graduating from Woburn High School, with the Class of 1971.

A very ambitious young lady, Fran began working at Bradlees, while she was in high school.  It was during this time that she met John LeFave, who was working at Stop and Shop.  Well, their relationship blossomed and shortly after Fran graduated from High School, they married!  They journeyed together over the next forty-five years.  Several years later, their son Dana arrived, and they were both so very proud of him.

They were both very active in Dana’s life, partaking in all his academic, social, and sporting activities.  As a matter of fact, Fran began helping the Woburn Youth Soccer organization when Dana was playing and never stopped!  From that time on, she really got more involved. And for quite awhile, she ran the Soccer Snack Shack and enjoyed every minute!

Fran and John always enjoyed travelling and they were no strangers to cruises. With family and friends, off they would all travel together, enjoying each other’s company.  Never would they all go without their playing cards, where polka was the game of choice, whether on the ship, or at home, around the kitchen table, it was a game they all enjoyed.

For a good part of Fran’s life, she had worked as a bookkeeper. And over the last six years, she worked as a cashier at DeMoulas, where she shared many friendships.

Sadly, Fran was predeceased by her husband, John and parents, Joe and Mary.

She is lovingly survived by her dear son, Dana J. LeFave of Woburn, her siblings, Rose Jordan of AL, Margaret Lisacki, her husband Paul of Woburn, Joseph Bastolla, his spouse Cesar Jimenez of FL, and Lou Bastolla of Woburn.  Cherished Aunt and Godmother of Kristina Lisacki, Godmother of Laura Serafino, and longtime dear friend of Sally Serafino of Woburn.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday morning, December 31st from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

  10. I graduated with Fran in 1971. She was always friendly and kind. She was in my homeroom which was on the 1st floor of Woburn High. There were large windows that could be opened from the top or bottom. She had two St Bernard dogs that would be outside waiting for her. Our homeroom teacher used to open the window and they would come inside and lay next to her desk. Those dogs loved her and would follow her everywhere. Fran was a wonderful person. Rest in peace, Fran.
