Jessica Mary McLaughlin, of Billerica and formerly of Woburn, passed away suddenly, December 21st, at twenty one years of age.

Born in Winchester, Jessica was the beloved daughter of Elayna I. (DeBenedetto) McLaughlin of Billerica and John F. McLaughlin of Woburn. She was raised and educated in Woburn, and was a proud pop-warner cheerleader. She graduated from North Shore Community College, where she pursued a passion of working with the elderly, and the special needs community.

Jessica was a social butterfly with a gypsy soul! She was adventurous, having a tremendous love of music and was very “fleet of foot” when it came to dancing. Jessica expressed herself creatively and it flowed in the arts. She was vibrant in color choices, exceptional, and innovative in what she drew.

Jessica’s love of her family and friends held no bounds. She was compassionate, giving, and selfless. And she would do anything for her family and strangers alike. She has left a tremendous void and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Along with her parents, Elayna and John, Jessica was the loving sister of Drew and Erika McLaughlin, both of Woburn. Dear granddaughter of Guy DeBenedetto, his late wife Jeanne and Mary McLaughlin, her late husband Henry, all of Woburn. Cherished cousin and best friend of Michele DeBenedetto and Haylee Rich. Jessica is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, along with her treasured cat Katana.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, December 28th at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at Noon. Calling hours Thursday 3-7 p.m. Interment is Private. Donations may be made in her memory to the MSPCA at Angell Hospital, 350 S. Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130, to the Special Olympics, 36 Newbury St., Boston, MA 02116, or to a charity of ones choice.

I was one of Jessica’s teachers at NSCC. Jessica worked hard in her studies. One of the things I valued most about Jess was how warm and accepting she was of each and every one of her classmates. She was a friend to all. Rest In Peace, Jess. XO
