Francis E. “Frankie” Spinazola, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice Home in Reading, early on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at the age of sixty nine.

Frankie was one of five children, born to the late Victor “Vito” and Patricia (Davis) Spinazola. Having been raised and educated in Woburn, Frankie was a graduate of Woburn High School with the Class of 1967.  While in High School he played sports, and was an outstanding catcher in his day!

Following high school, Frankie began working with Boston Gas and had remained with them for several years.  In the mid eighties he entered into business with his Dad.  Mr. Spinazola Sr. was a very well known interior decorator, known for his superb wall papering abilities.  Frankie brought his interior painting skills and expertise, and together they truly painted and papered throughout homes, not just in Woburn but all the surrounding towns!  After his Dad retired in the early nineties, Frankie kept the tradition alive and painted right up until several years ago.

All throughout his life Frankie remained actively involved in sports.  Frankie’s greatest joy in life was his son and his grandchildren.  There was nothing in the world that he would not have done for any of them.  From stopping by each day to visit, attending all of whatever it was that they were involved in from sports, cheering, and the world of academia, “Papa” was very proud of all they did and had achieved.

Every year during the spring, Frankie would cultivate his garden, go to the same place every year to purchase his seedlings and when the right time came, into the garden they would go.  Without a doubt he reaped tomatoes throughout late summer and early fall, sharing them with everyone he knew and some that he didn’t!  They were excellent!

Frankie was a person of tremendous character.  He was always willing and able to have a conversation, help someone in need or offer life advice. His presence will be deeply missed by the ones he loved most.
