Georgette (Dimitri) Peachey passed away at Winchester Hospital after a lengthy illness.  The beloved wife of the late Leo L. Peachey, she was eighty six years of age.

Born in Albania, Georgette was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jenka Dimitri.  They left Albania over eighty some odd years ago, and arrived at Ellis Island when Georgette was two years old.  They had made their home in Somerville for a brief time and then to Medford where Georgette was a graduate of Medford High School with the Class of 1950.  One evening after high school she and some friends went to Mosley’s on the Charles, where she met and over a year later married Leo Peachey!

In 1955 they married and made their home in the West Side of Woburn where they were blessed with two wonderful daughters.  The Peacheys also made a second home in West Dennis.  Every summer was spent there, enjoying every second of every day during the summer months.  West Dennis Yacht Club was frequently visited by the Peachy family.   They often would head out into the Atlantic on their boat fishing, exploring and enjoying the special days of summer.  Snow skiing during the winter months and trips to Miami Beach during the spring time were wonderful times spent together.

When the retirement years rolled around the Peachey’s were off to Sarasota, Florida where they spent their winters.  Over the years they had made a host of friends both in Florida and at the Cape whom they kept in touch with over the years.

When the grandchildren arrived “Grammy” couldn’t have been happier!  Activities, sporting events, birthdays and graduations, was time most precious to her. They were both very near and dear to her, and loved unconditionally!

Georgette enjoyed reading fiction and biographies, socializing and dining with friends and her family.  She shared a great interest in life and all that was happening around her, but her greatest love was that of her beloved family.

Sadly Georgette was predeceased by her dear husband Leo just four years ago.

She was the loving mother of Deborah P. Golden of Woburn and Carol Peachey of Pagosa Springs, CO. Dear sister of Loretta Butterfield of Woburn, Jeanette Shea of Mashpee and Robert Dimitri of Sandwich.  Cherished grandmother of Katie and Keith Golden. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to call at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, October 10th  from 4 to 7 p.m.. Interment is private. Remembrances may be made in Georgette’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
