Richard C. “Dick” Lynch, a life long resident of Woburn, died peacefully, on Saturday, July 21st, 2018 at the age of eighty six.   He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. Lynch for sixty five years,  and the father of eight children, seventeen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Born and raised in Woburn, Dick was the youngest of three sons born to the late James and Anna (Peterson) Lynch.   He was a graduate of the Woburn High School, Class of 1949, and married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Mace in 1953.

Dick worked as a trouble shooter and lineman for Boston Edison for forty four years.  He had a tremendous work ethic, but he also knew how to relax.  He loved telling jokes and stories and had a great sense of humor, all of which he passed onto his children.

For over seventy years, Dick played golf at the Woburn Country Club; and was a longtime member of the Woburn Golf & Ski Authority.  He loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing with his sons, son in-law, and fellow 19th Hole Club members.  He won his fair share of golf tournaments, but was most proud of his “Best Dressed” trophy.

A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Dick will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dick is survived by his dear wife, Lorraine, and was the loving father of Richard Lynch Jr., his wife Janet of Centerville, Kenneth Lynch of New York,  Karen Pawlowski, her husband Gregory of Arizona, John Lynch, his wife Diane of Woburn, Timothy Lynch, his wife Jane of Burlington, Steven Lynch, his wife Erin of Woburn, Michelle Peluso, her husband Joseph of Burlington, and Michael Lynch, his wife Melissa of Bedford. Cherished grandfather of Rudy Lynch, his wife Dr. Tara Lynch, Gregory Pawlowski Jr., Beth Ralphs, her husband Jon, Becky Pawlowski, Joey, Jillian and John Peluso, April, Peter, Kevin, J.B.,  Shannon, Sean, Jack, Sam and Molly Lynch.

Dick sadly was predeceased by his brothers James E. Lynch Jr, Robert F. Lynch, and his granddaughters, Gina and Keeley Lynch.

  7. Over 30 years ago the Lynch’s took me as one there own kids and always showed me love. All I can remember is how much love and caring came from each person in that house. It all started with the LEADER of the family Mr. Lynch and his beautiful wife Lorraine (my 2nd mom). With all that love you raised 8 incredible kids and the Lynch name carries on.
