Fred A. Pereira

of Woburn, formerly of Maderia, Portugal, July 15th. Beloved husband of Maria Olivia (Rodrigues). Devoted father of Paul Pereira of Billerica, Elizabeth Pereira of Tewksbury and Lisa Byard of Woburn. Loving brother-in-law of Allen Pereira of Woburn. Beloved grandfather of Christopher Byard Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday, July 18th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Remembrances may be made in Fred’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452. Fred A. Pereira, 76, of Woburn, formerly of Maderia, Portugal, died peacefully, Sunday, July 15th at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Maria Olivia (Rodrigues).

Born in Madeira, Portugal, Fred was a son of Manuel and Domingues Pereira. 

For over 28 years, Fred was employed by Woburn Supply Company and Kraft Foods. He was often seen wearing his Kraft Food shirt and hat and was so proud to have been a part of their team. He often called it the “Jelly” and had many friend there.

Fred loved spending time outside at Horn Pond and in his beautiful backyard, with his beloved wife, overlooking the grapevine he planted. Fred often helped gather the offering at St. Charles Church at the Sunday Mass each week.

He loved his family and was very proud of his grandson Christopher’s acceptance into Loyola University in Maryland, where he will be attending in the fall. 

Along with his wife Maria, Fred is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Paul Pereira of Billerica, Elizabeth Pereira of Tewksbury and Lisa Byard of Woburn. Loving brother-in-law of Allen Pereira of Woburn. Beloved grandfather of Christopher Byard Jr.

    Maria and Liz, So very sorry for your great loss. I knew Freddie way back when he first arrived in Woburn. A funny guy and always smiling. And to Liz, my adopted niece and Ann’s dear friend, I love you and I know that your Dad will always be around watching over you, Mom and your family. RIP old friend.

    Freddie was a great man and will be truly missed. I will always remember daily my talks with him over the years and sometimes over a nice cup of chili from Wendy’s. My prayers go out to Maria, Allen, Liz, Paul, Lisa and Christopher. My heart breaks for you.
