Joseph “Joe” Thomas Moules passed away at the Edith Norse Veteran’s Hospital in Bedford, Thursday, June 28th.  The beloved husband of the late Frances (Farrow) Moules, he was ninety years of age.

Born in Cambridge, Joe was the only son and one of four children born to the late Thomas and Helen (Hannon) Moules.  Raised and educated in Cambridge, Joe was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.

In 1954 he married Frances Farrow and made their home in Cambridge until 1970, when they moved to the West Side of Woburn.  They had brought three children into the world of whom he was dedicated to and most proud of.  In the later years after the children were grown, he became “Grampy” and “Papa Joe”.  Well, he could not have been more elated than taking on this role. Time spent was filled  with many happy moments, events, birthdays, holidays, and graduations. Professionally, Joe served the City of Cambridge as a Police Officer for over twenty eight years, retiring in 1982.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife Frances. He was lovingly survived by his children, Joseph T. Moules, Jr., his wife Wendy of Billerica, Thomas J. Moules, his late wife June of Peabody and Denise Bentley of Woburn, his sisters, Theresa Maguire of Rockland, Claire Moules of Cambridge and Jane Palange of Leominster and his grandchildren, Cody, Tyler and Cally Moules, Thomas Jr. and Celine Moules and Michael and Brooke Bentley. A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Monday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. Interment in Cambridge Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. An early memory of Joe and Fran is in the 60’s when my wife and I were invited to their home on Lopez Street for coffee . Those were the days of Car 6: Mills & Moules. Our friendship lasted many decades and we were very sad to learn of his passing. Our Heartfelt Sympathy, Cal & Sylvia Kantor
