Ellen Kirk, of North Reading, passed away after a very brief illness, Monday morning, June 4th at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston.  The beloved daughter of Paula (Sullivan) Kirk of Woburn and the late Lawrence J. “Larry” Kirk, she was fifty-three years of age.

Born in Woburn, she was one of three children born into the Kirk family. Ellen attended Woburn schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School, with the class of 1982.  That September, following graduation, she ventured off to North Adams State College, where she graduated from in 1986, with a degree in Marketing and Management.

Ellen worked in customer support for the past 25 years in companies.  For the past four years, she has worked for XOS Digital in Wilmington, which provides professional sports video editing solutions.

In Ellen’s spare time, she always kept busy.  As a child and into adulthood, she enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, along with drawing and painting.

Traveling was also on her docket throughout her life.  Cruises appeared to be the main stay traveling piece for Ellen.  Visits to all the different islands and enjoying new experiences, mixed with being on the ocean and surrounded by entertainment and pools was the best!  Maine, California, Arizona, and Florida were also places she enjoyed traveling, always finding and visiting new places with her group of friends.  Sadly, Ellen was stricken while doing what she loved, traveling, just one month ago.

Ellen shared a wonderful relationship with her family and was always in search of the “perfect gifts” when it was a special time for each of them, particularly holiday time. Ellen was truly a good natured, kind and gentle person. Whatever she could do to help out, she was right there to do whatever was needed.  All throughout her life she surrounded herself with her beloved family and some truly very dear friends.

Ellen was just predeceased by her Dad, Larry in January 2017.

Along with her mother Paula, Ellen is lovingly survived by her brothers Lawrence J. Kirk Jr., and Barbara of Woburn and Michael J. Kirk of Hudson, NH. Loving Aunt of Justin Kirk of Hudson, NH.   Dear niece and godchild of Louise Sullivan and the late Robert Kirk, along with her other aunts and uncles, Marie T. Ward and Thomas R. Kirk both of Woburn, and the late Paul Kirk, Eleanor Quigley, John Kirk, Roseanne Costello, Charles Kirk and Rita Kirk and many loving cousins.  Very dear friend of Judy Welsh, her husband Terry and Marie Lyle, her husband Paul all of Woburn.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, June 8th at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at Noon.  Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call Thursday, June 7th, 4-7 p.m.

Remembrances may be made in Ellen’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
