Lillian A. (Edry) Malevich

of Woburn, June 1st, 90 years of age.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph Malevich.  Loving mother of Paula Paetzold, her husband Kevin of Shrewsbury, Joan Malevich of Malden and Lynne Malevich of Beverly.  Dear sister of Joseph Edry and his wife Rita of Danvers. She is also survived by her loving cousin Joanne Mitchell and other dear nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Saturday, June 9th at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery.Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:00 – 11:15 a.m. prior to the Mass. Lillian A. (Edry) Malevich , of Woburn, died peacefully, June 1st at Care One in Wilmington at 90 years of age.  Lillian was the beloved wife of over 40 years to the late Joseph Malevich. 

Born in Brighton, Lillian was a daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline (Narkiewich) Edry. She was educated in Cambridge and after moving to Woburn, was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 1945.

For 12 years, Lillian worked for Swift & Company as a meat packer and also for Gilchrist’s in Stoneham.  She was a very hard worker and instilled that work ethic in her children.

Lillian was a longtime member of the Cambridge Polish Club and met her husband, Joe, there one night. Together they raised three daughters who they dedicated and devoted their life to.  She was a strong, thoughtful, and caring person who would do anything to help someone.

In 1960, Lillian and her husband won a trip to Jamaica, and from that they caught the traveling bug! Over the years, together they visited over thirty-five different countries, including France, Germany, and Italy.  They also took many trips to Las Vegas and later Foxwoods.  They always had fun together as a family, and on Sundays, frequented area beaches. After the death of her husband, Lillian became an active member of the Woburn Senior Center where she enjoyed singing, playing Bingo, and on Wednesday’s, going out to breakfast with her friends.

Lillian will be deeply missed by her daughters, Paula Paetzold, her husband Kevin of Shrewsbury, Joan Malevich of Malden and Lynne Malevich of Beverly.  She was the dear sister of Joseph Edry and his wife Rita of Danvers, and is also survived by her loving cousin, Joanne Mitchell and other dear nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her close life-long friend Gert Uzdavinis.
