Charles E. O’Hearn, of Woburn, died peacefully, May 29th, at eighty-seven years of age. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne M. (Fleming) O’Hearn, who died on November 27, 2017.

Born in Somerville, Charles was a son of the late John and Joanna (A’Hearn) O’Hearn. He was educated at St. Catherine’s and received a degree in engineering from Northeastern University. In 1955, Charles served his country proudly as part of the US Army, until being honorably discharged in 1957.

After he was discharged from the service, Charles frequented Mosleys on the Charles, where he met his future wife Anne. After dating for a year or so, they decided to journey together as husband and wife, which travelled over fifty nine years.

For many years, Charles worked for United Electric Controls, where he was highly involved in growing their satellite program.

Every summer they vacationed at Plum Cove in Gloucester . It was a very special place that the O’Hearns truly enjoyed cherishing their adventures and lots of fun in the sun! His other enduring love was golf and he enjoyed it whenever he could with friends and family. He was an instrumental founding member of the Irish American Club in Woburn and loved his bar shifts until caring for his wife took precedence.

Charles was a gentle giant with a quiet disposition, however, stern when needed.  The rock of his extended family.

His wife and family mean the world to him and were his greatest joy!
