Helen L. (Corbett) McAllister, 88, died peacefully Monday, May 28th, at the Windrose in Woburn. She was the beloved wife of over 60 years to the late John A. McAllister.

Born in Boston and raised in Woburn, Helen was a daughter of the late James and Matilda (Kelley) Corbett.

In her younger years, Helen worked for Gorin’s and S&S Industries in Woburn and also for Leo Carroll Jewelers in Cambridge. Once Helen and John started their family, Helen dedicated her life to caring and raising her children. She was a kind, patient and loving mother who will be deeply missed.

Helen enjoyed Bowling and was a member of various bowling leagues years ago. She also enjoyed supporting and cheering on her husband in the Fire Fighter Soft Ball League and also enjoyed trying something new, like a floral design class. She loved traveling to her favorite places; the Casinos- and trying her luck on a slot machine, or two. Spending time with her family and friends was important to her and she never missed a Saturday breakfast with her sisters at Bickford’s.

Helens family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at the Windrose for all the care, love and compassion they showed to Helen and her family during her time there.
