JAMES F. KENNEY – of Woburn, February 15th at ninety years of age. Beloved husband of Teresa M. (Pepe) Kenney. Devoted father of Dennis Kenney, his late wife Susan of Woburn, Paula Doherty, her husband Kenneth of Methuen, Richard Kenney and his wife Deborah of Pelham and Marylee Fisk and her husband Dennis of Tewksbury. Dear brother of Mary McMahon of IL and the late Stephen Kenney and Ann Lohnes. Brother-in-law of Gerry Lohnes of Winchester. Cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Wednesday, February 21st at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery. OBITUARY

James F. Kenney, 90, of Woburn, died peacefully Thursday, February 15th. He was the beloved husband of Teresa M. (Pepe) Kenney, with whom he would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on April 19th.

Born in Arlington, James was a son of the late Patrick and Annie (Cullinane) Kenney of Ireland. He was educated in Arlington and a graduate of Arlington High School.

For many years, Jim worked as a private investigator, first for Dow Services in Boston and then later for himself, until retiring at the age of 70.

Jim was an avid runner, bike rider and health enthusiast. He was active well into his eighties and ran countless 5K’s as well as the Boston Marathon and Maine Marathon. When he wasn’t running or bike riding, Jim could be found tending to his rose bushes which were his pride and joy. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed working around the house.

Along with his wife Teresa, James is survived and will be deeply missed by his four children, Dennis Kenney, his late wife Susan of Woburn, Paula Doherty, her husband Kenneth of Methuen, Richard Kenney and his wife Deborah of Pelham and Marylee Fisk and her husband Dennis of Tewksbury; sister, Mary McMahon of IL; brother-in-law, Gerry Lohnes of Winchester; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Stephen Kenney and Ann Lohnes.

    Bill and I are so sorry to hear of Uncle Jimmy’s passing. We will always remember how far he would run through Woburn, you never knew where you would see him and it always brought a smile. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers, we Love you.
