OBITUARY

Peter C. Scarvalas, 97, a life-long resident of Woburn, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, just three weeks after his beloved wife, Mildred Jean (Jewett) Scarvalas.

Born and educated in Woburn, Peter was a son of the late Christos and Vasoliki Scarvalas. After High School, Peter served his country as part of the US Air Force during WWII. Upon returning from the war, Peter met the love of his life, Mildred Jean and together they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage. He spoiled her and loved her throughout their life together. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family. Sadly, three weeks ago Mildred passed away, which is a testimony of their deep, undying love for each other.

Prior to his retirement, Pete and his brother John owned and operated various restaurants, such as the Newtown Grill in Cambridge, Blue Bell in Middleton and the Circle Lounge in Lawrence. Peter was a hardworking man who provided for his family his entire life. He was always on the go with projects, gardening, and cooking but enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Peter was the devoted father of Christopher, his wife Lynne, Donna Malcolm, wife of the late William, all of Woburn and Gary Scarvalas of Dracut. Loving grandfather “Pete” to Nicholas Scarvalas and wife Pamela, Kristen Scarvalas, Lauren Malcolm and fiancé Anthony, Billy Malcolm, Jason and Joseph Scarvalas. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, John Scarvalas.

At the family’s request, all services are private and under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Remembrances may be made in Pete’s memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 70 Montvale Ave, Woburn, MA 01801 or to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.To leave an online condolence, please visit www.lynch-cantillon.com or Facebook under Lynch – Cantillon Funeral Home.
