CATHERINE V. “CATE” ANGLIN – of Woburn, Monday, October 16th at ninety-eight years of age. Beloved wife of the late John F. Anglin, George A. Leonard and John J. Allen. Cherished mother of Mary C. Ames of Woburn, Catherine M. Maynard, her husband Gene of Lowell and Joseph M. Allen of Chester, VT. Dear sister of the late Susie Doherty and Julia Sampson. Very special Nanny to eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. At the family’s request, all services and interment are private.
Catherine V. “Cate” (Yasigian) Anglin, 98, died peacefully, Monday, October 16th at Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Anglin, George A. Leonard and John J. Allen.
Catherine was born in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Anthony and Celine (Matheossian) Yasigian of Turkey. She was educated in Arlington and a graduate of Arlington High School. She made her home in Woburn in her early 40’s, and remained there the remainder of her life.
For 10 years Cate worked as a secretary for the director of Nursing at the former Choate Hospital in Woburn, until retiring in 1980.
Cate was an independent and strong willed woman, who was very resourceful and extremely proud and supportive of her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband’s and exploring new places together. She also enjoyed painting and spending time with her family. Her most favorite times were around the holidays, when she would be surrounded by family, whom she would cook delicious food for.
Cate is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, Mary C. Ames of Woburn, Catherine M. Maynard, her husband Gene of Lowell and Joseph M. Allen of Chester, VT, as well as eight loving grandchildren and fourteen cherished great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Susie Doherty and Julia Sampson.
At the family’s request, all services are private and under the direction of the Lynch – Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
