OBITUARY:

Albert J. Kearns passed away at his home, amongst his beloved family, Saturday, August 19th. The beloved husband of the late Marie (Reilly) Kearns, he was eighty seven years of age.

Born in Belmont, he was the son of the late of Edward and Marie (Mueller) Kearns. Raised in Belmont, Albert was the brother of late Edward, Natalie Kearns and Eileen Heffron. Al graduated from Belmont High School, with the Class of 1948.

Al continued on to Beacon Institute of Podiatry in Boston, graduating with a Doctor of Podiatry degree. He was employed for many years at Laskey Carpet Company in Boston, and Schaal Associates in Burlington before retiring in 1992.

In 1955 Al married his longtime sweetheart Marie Reilly. They made their home in Belmont for several years. Later in 1959, they nestled in to the West Side of Woburn, where they have remained.

Al was very involved in his children’s activities and a number of social/sporting events, such as Boy Scouts, football, ski teams and sailing lessons. Many wonderful outings as a family where always on tap for the Kearns family. Skiing the different mountains in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont during the winter months. As summer arrived, it was off to their home in Dennisport! Their home at the Cape was a wonderful place to be. They had entertained family and friends, sailing, swimming, walks on the beach, all the while making some truly wonderful friendships that continue to this day.

After retirement in the early nineties, Al and Marie would spend May thru October at the Cape, returning to Woburn for the winter months, just waiting out the winter so they could return to their place of serenity.

When their grandchildren began arriving “Grandpa” was so very proud of them all. Again the Cape was the place for all to gather and enjoy those special times with family.

All throughout Al’s life, family and friends were at the center. Sadly, Al was predeceased by his wife Marie, his son Ed and his wife Anne Marie.

Al is lovingly survived daughters Ellen M. Yuse, her husband John, Anne L. Kearns all of NH. Devoted “Grandpa” of Brian Kearns, his wife Kristine, Michael Kearns, Allison Chaffman, her husband Steve and Andrew Yuse. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Tuesday, August 22nd at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday morning, 9~11a.m. prior to the Funeral.
