OBITUARY:

Kevin J. Bowden passed away with his beloved family at his side Tuesday evening June 20th, at his sister’s home in Bradford. The son of the late Charles J. and Ann M. (Cole) Bowden, he was forty eight years of age.

Born in Winchester, Kevin was raised in the west side, “Keltown “ section of the city. While growing up, Kevin participated in Little League baseball. Often he was referred to as “Horns” while growing up. Kevin was rather a mischieveious youngster; when he had questions or just a “need to know” about different things, he would always seek the answer. He was educated in the Woburn Public Schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School, along with the Class of 1988.

Following high school Kevin went and secured a position at Star Market and then to Shaws where he worked hard and had become manager of the dairy department, a position he held until several years ago.

Kevin’s life was full. He had three terrific sons to whom he was devoted.

Seven years ago he had moved to Bradford where he would be closer to his siblings. Sadly, just nine months ago he began the battle for his life. He underwent recommended treatment and a trial treatment, for his illness, always hoping and praying for a good out come.

Kevin’s family was a wonderful support to him throughout this time. They provided him each and everyday with the faith, hope and encouragement necessary to sustain his strong will and beautiful smile.

Sadly, Kevin was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Ann and his dear brother Charlie Jr.

Kevin was the devoted father of Atom J. Bowden, his partner Kayla Stewart of OK, Jason R. and Matthew J Bowden of Townsend. Beloved son of the late Charles J. and Ann M. (Cole) Bowden. Loving brother of Richard C. Bowden, his wife Linda J. of Bradford, Sharon A. Bowden of Bradford, Maureen Bowden, her spouse Martha Perillo of Otis, Thomas C. Bowden, his wife Rena of Bradford, Dawn M. Lynch of Haverhill and the late Charles J. Bowden Jr. Wonderfully devoted uncle of Jennifer, Kellie and Krista Lynch, Cole, Brianna and Thomas Bowden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Celebration of Kevin’s Eternal Life, in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, on Monday, June 26th at 10 a.m. Interment is private. Kevin’s arrangements are under the personal direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.

  4. My heart is deeply saddened by the loss of Kevin. He was one of my closest friends when I was young. We had a lot of fun playing in the neighborhood. I often think of him when I eat an apple w/salt 😊 He had a lot of wisdom for a young kid. My sincere condolences to his three sons, his sister Dawn, from whom he was inseparable as a child & his sister Sharon & the rest of his family. I regret that I cannot make Kevin’s funeral, however I will hold him in my thoughts & prayers.
Kevin, may your suffering be a thing of the past and may you Rest In Peace forevermore.

  6. I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Kevin last year at Lexington Little League. He was so happy to watch his son play and push his other son on the swings. We had a lot of conversations during those games. It was so apparent the love he had for his boys. May he Rest In Peace and may his three sons know how much he loved them

  7. I am so sorry for your loss. I wish there was something I could say to take the pain away. Please know that Kevin and your entire family will be in my prayers.
