OBITUARY:

Dorothy L. “Dottie”(Anderson) Dabrieo passed away Wednesday, May, 23rd after a brief illness at her home, amongst her beloved family. The devoted wife of Ernest R. “Ernie” Dabrio, she was eighty years of age.

Born in Everett, she was one of nine children born to the late Alfred and Marion (Quinlan) Anderson. “Peachie” as her Dad had nicknamed her, was born in the middle of the nine children, always having older and younger siblings around all throughout her lifetime! Raised and educated in Everett, Peachie was a graduate of Everett High School along with the Class of 1954.

In July of 1956, she married her sweetheart Ernie Dabrieo, to whom she has been devoted to for over sixty years.

They resided in Everett for about three years and then purchased a home in Woburn, where they have remained.

Bringing eight children into the world, Peachie was kept extremely busy over the years, actually right up until last month. Her love and dedication was devoted to her husband and children. Peachie remained home caring for her children and as they grew. Later when they married and had children of their own, “Nana” then dedicated herself to caring for them. With all her grandchildren Nana shared a very special relationship with them all collectively and a very special relationship with them individually.

Always keeping a meticulous home, from the ceilings, windows, floors, curtains, to the washing, drying (on the outside line!) ironing, and cooking breakfast, lunches dinners, and desserts to attending all of the children’s sporting and academic events, and then, always finding time for whatever else, she needed to do! Dottie, when finished her inside chores, would often begin working outside in the yard, sweeping the driveway ior the street in front of their home. Everything always pristine, from inside out!

Peachie loved being a wife, mother, Nana and great Nana. A good, loving, hard working, selfless woman, she was always focused on her family and what it was she could do for them and her neighbors. Over the years the neighborhood remained the same and wonderful friendships were established and are still on going. Good conversation was always available when chatting with “Dottie” (called by her friends in Woburn) either in person or on the phone! Always there to offer advice, a helping hand or just to “chat.” She shared a wonderful sense of humor throughout and often ending a good laugh with “oh, Lordy!”

Dottie’s life was full and very faithfilled. She and Ernie were active participants at St. Charles Church and within that community. Always together, they both loved each other, their home and their family, both sharing a wonderful sense of pride.

Sadly, in addition to her parents Peachie was predeceased by her siblings Robert Anderson, his wife Jean, Donald Anderson, his wife Edith, Arthur Anderson, his wife Rosemary, Shirley Miele, her husband Joseph, and Evelyn Guelli.

She is lovingly survived by her dear husband Ernie, children Stephen Dabrieo, his wife Carol, Kevin Dabrieo, his wife Jane, Donna Sands, her husband Robert, Robert Dabrieo, his wife Amy, Michelle McDonald, her husband Paul, Michael Dabrieo, his partner Suzanne Costello, John Dabrieo, his wife Tara, and Dennis Dabrieo, his wife Kate, her siblings John Anderson, his wife Nancy, Marion Hatch, her late husband Robert, Phyllis Templeton, her husband Roy, sister-in-law of Raymond Guelli along with fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews, great and grand. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, May 31st at 9 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday, 3 – 7 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Dorothy’s honor to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd, Ipswich, MA 01938 or to the Catholic Television Network, PO Box 9196, 34 Chestnut Street, Watertown, MA 02471.
