OBITUARY:

Francisco “Frankie” DeFreitas passed away at his home April 27th, with his beloved family by his side. The loving son of Manuel DeFreitas of Portugal and Julia DeFreitas of Woburn, he was forty four years of age.

Born in Woburn, Frankie grew up in the High School section of the city, where he was raised, educated and a graduate of Woburn High School, with the Class of 1991. All throughout Frankie’s life he played the drums and was outstanding! He continued his education at music school following high school and then was the drummer for his band and often filled in with other bands.

One evening he was introduced to Jean Lantagne and their relationship blossomed. They brought three beautiful sons into the world, whom he cherished.

Travelling to the beach during the summer months, camping in the White Mountains, and attending just about all the Portuguese Festivals together, everyone had a ball.

Frankie was all about goodness, kindness and was very strong in his faith. When someone needed help, Frankie was right there to assist, in any way he could.

Sadly, Frankie’s illness took him much to soon, but the love he shared for his family during his time here on earth has left some truly wonderful memories.

Frankie is lovingly survived by his parents, Manuel and Julia along with his children,Tyler, Evan and Nathan DeFreitas and their loving and devoted mother, Jean Lantagne, all of Burlington. Dear brother of Felipe DeFreitas of Somerville, Filomena DeFreitas of Nashua, NH, Helen Eaton of FL, Jose Manuel DeFreitas of FL, Roy DeFreitas of Portugal, Victor DeFreitas, Tony DeFreitas and Fatima “Maria” DeFreitas, all of Woburn and the late Maria Louisa DeFreitas. Frankie is also lovingly survived by 19 nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, May 2nd, at 11 a.m.. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery.
