HELEN C. (BERNE) LOWELL – of Woburn, eighty-eight years of age. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Lowell. Proud mother of Chris Faulkner, her husband Thomas of Danvers, Diane Laidlaw, her husband Jack of Wakefield, Theresa Bennett, her husband Mark of Burlington, Peter Lowell, his wife Jane of Woburn, Paul Lowell, his wife Paula of Wilmington. Very special “Nanny” of Brock Faulkner, Amy Murphy, Tommy Faulkner, Sarah Peabody, Brett Laidlaw, Julie Costanzo, Keri Salituri, Jason and Josh Bennett, Shalen, Rowan, Steven, Thomas Lowell and 15 greatgrandchildren. Cherished niece of Sr. Maryalice of the Sisters of Providence, Holyoke. A Funeral will be held Wednesday, April12th at 9:30 a.m at the from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, April12th at 9:30 a.m followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St,, Woburn, at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, 8:30-9:30 prior to the Funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

OBITUARY:

Helen C. (Berne) Lowell a long time resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully at the Winchester Nursing Center on Sunday, April 9th surrounded by her loving family. The beloved wife of the late Kenneth Lowell, she was eighty eight years of age.

Born and educated in Pittsfied, Helen was the only child tborn to the late Charles and Gertrude (Volin) Berne. She attended Notre Dame Elementary and High School, graduating with Class of 1945.

For 64 years, Helen was married to the love of her life Kenneth, whom she married and moved with to Woburn with the same year they married. A homemaker all her life, they brought three daughters and two sons into the world and was a extremely proud of all.

Helen’s number one hobby and pleasure in life was family, family, family! Always making sure her children were well fed with breakfast, lunch and dinner at 5! As a mother and a “Nanny” to thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren she enjoyed cooking and baking, the holidays were truly times she thoroughly enjoyed being with her family. Christmas was number the number one as it was a time filled with family,fun and lots of food. and laughter.

She loved the ocean, and travelling to York Beach, Maine and Gloucester to be ocean-side with her family was always an adventure.

Helen will always be remembered for her ever loving devotion to her family. People would often look to her for advice, and was always a very good listener.

Sadly, in addition to her parents Charles and Gertrude, Helen was predeceased by her husband Kenneth.

She is lovingly survived by her children Chris Faulkner, her husband Thomas of Danvers, Diane Laidlaw, her husband Jack of Wakefield, Theresa Bennett, her husband Mark of Burlington, Peter Lowell, his wife Jane of Woburn, Paul Lowell, his wife Paula of Wilmington. Very special “Nanny” of Brock Faulkner, Amy Murphy, Tommy Faulkner, Sarah Peabody, Brett Laidlaw, Julie Costanzo, Keri Salituri, Jason and Josh Bennett, Shalen, Rowan, Steven, Thomas Lowell and 15 great grandchildren.
