OBITUARY:

Thomas C. “Tommy” Donaghey died unexpectedly on Friday September 16th. Born and raised in Woburn, the son of Patricia (Costello) Donaghey of Woburn and Matthew T Donaghey, of Hamilton, he was a graduate of Woburn High School, class of 2004. While growing up Tommy always enjoyed playing sports. He was quite an athlete in both baseball and football, having played in all the different leagues and teams while growing up here in Woburn.

Following high school Tommy attended Plymouth State University for a year, prior to joining the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, Tommy held various jobs in construction and in the medical field, where he held several certificates.

Tommy was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending summers in Hampton Beach. He was also a skier growing up, often spending weekends at Ragged and Cannon Mountains in New Hampshire. Tommy had a passion for concerts and would attend as often as possible. He also had a tender spot in his heart for animals, especially his cat, Arty! .

Sadly Tommy, like so many others, battled with drug addiction. He always had the strong and loving support of his family, working tirelessly to help Tommy overcome this painful process. Deep down, Tommy had always been a person who possessed a caring soul and a very big heart.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Patricia (Costello) Donaghey and her partner, Dennis Harris, of Woburn. His father, Matthew T. Donaghey, and his wife, Kathleen, of Hamilton, MA. His sister, Jessica Donaghey, of Woburn. His brother, Matthew C Donaghey and his wife Jaimie, of Woburn. His sister, Julie Donaghey, of Hamilton. His “Nana”, Nancy Costello, of Woburn and his nephew, Jared Donaghey, of Woburn. Also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul “Pro” Costello, his grandparents, Stephen and Margaret Donaghey, as well as his aunt and Godmother, Pamela Vidito.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, September 22nd at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10.
