OBITUARY:

Michelle M. Martin passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lawrence, September 14th, at the age of fifty nine. She was the beloved daughter of Jeanne F. (Gerrior) Martin of Woburn, and the late Richard A Martin.

Born in Arlington, Michell one of four children growing up in the Martin household. They had moved to Woburn at an early age and settled in to the West side of the city where her family remained. While growing up Michelle was very active in St. Barbara’s Parish, where she received all of her sacraments. Joining in the Burlington Citations, Michelle was an active participant in that particular marching band having played the trumpet for a bit and then as a member of the Color Guard. Having attended Woburn Schools Michelle was a graduate of Woburn High School along with the Class of 1975. Continuing on with her education she attended Middlesex Community College where she received an Associates degree.

For several years she held a position at McDonalds in Bedford and then to the Administrative Offices of Fannie Farmers. It was there at Fannie Farmers that she met her two best friends with whom she has shared her life and some very special times with, traveling, visiting , shows, movies, some truly wonderful times.

About twenty years ago Michelle moved to Lawrence where she nestled in and made her home. A short time later she secured a position at Sullivan and Bille in Tewksbury, which is a full service accounting firm. Well, in a very short time she rose through the ranks, her position increasing with responsibilities over the years, having served as the Office Manager. During her years there she continued taking courses at UMass Lowell, so as to keep up with the changing world of business. In this position over the years she received many awards and citations, for her outstanding professionalism and abilities.

When it came to family she was an intricate part of all the happenings! Her tireless energy was devoted to making and doing for others first, then tending to her own needs. Holidays were always a very special time of year when the family gathered and Michelle would make sure it was the best holiday ever. She always remained in touch with her Mom and Dad, with constant visits and phone calls to check in and see how they were doing or if they needed anything.

She so enjoyed being “Auntie Shelly!” From getting her nieces nails done, spending special time with each, crafting up gifts galour for them, to share and often teaching them how to do, whatever it was that needed to be done! But what was most wonderful about it all, is the infectious laughter that would come with her naturally, as she shared her terrific personality! As soon as she entered a room it would brighten right up with her smile and her natural ability to make everyone feel comfortable and important.

Michelle was a very kind, thoughtful and generous woman, whose main mission in life was to to be sure everyone was cared for. Her extraordinary love of family and friends was also shared with her very dear pet cats Pia and Boo, whom she has shared her home with over the years.

Michelle was a member of Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, Assoc., for Accounting Administration having served as NE Chapter President, Past President and the National Board, Director of Membership and Growth.

Sadly Michelle was predeceased by her Dad, Richard A. Martin.

Michelle is lovingly survived by her dear mother Jeanne F. (Gerrior) Martin of Woburn. Devoted sister of Kathleen Lane, her husband Scott of Alabama, JeanMarie Rogers, her husband William of Pennsylvania, and Richard Martin Jr. of California. Loving aunt of Christine and Lauren Lane, Kelly, Michael and Caroline Rogers.
